A message from K9BDH, our tech guru:

Good evening fellow Ham radio club members. I am happy to announce the work to have wires X on all 3 digital repeaters is now complete. Our Wires X room is 21179 and is called IL-Central. Currently that room is also linked to DMR 31179 ( I am not sure if that will be a long term connection or not. Comments are welcome about that.) How this was accomplished is that I used one of my FTM200's for now and have it pointed at 444.750 as a remote gateway.

All 3 repeaters share 1 wires x connection. You "should" be able to control the wires X room from 146.76, 444.200 and 444.750. In order to control the system you must go into your menu in your radio under Wires X. there should be a submenu that says DGID you will need to switch that from 00 or AUTO to 01. You will also need to make sure that your TX is set up for DGID01. For the newer models you get to that menu by pressing and holding the GM button .

You can "steer" the room to any other room on wires X It will stay in that room for 45 min's and then after that it will automatically go back to our room of 21179. This is incase you forget to disconnect from the room you are in or if some one is mobile and gets out of range before they can disconnect.

Please feel free to get on the air from one of the repeaters above and enjoy the clarity of wires x.
