Ham in a Day class

Amateur/Ham Radio License in a Day Class

Date and Time: April 22, 2023; Class runs from 8 AM to 3 PM; Testing 3:30 PM till complete

Location: Woodford County Emergency Operations Center, 303 S Main Street, Roanoke, IL 61561

Sponsor: Woodford County Repeater Association

Class: The class will provide a review of material covered in the Technician question pool as well as reinforcing answers to specific questions. It is very important to study and take practice exams to prepare for the April 22nd class. IT WILL BE UP TO YOU TO STUDY AND BE READY FOR THIS CLASS so make use the of the resources listed in the Technician Class Study Material below. The more prep you do, the better your chances of passing.

Exams: Volunteer Examiners will administer the FCC Technician Exam starting at 3:30 PM. Exam takers will know the results of the exam before they leave. If you pass the Technician’s exam, you may choose to stay and try to pass the General Class Exam. This exam session is also open to current Technician license holders who wish to sit for the General Exam, and current General license holders wanting to sit for the Extra Class Exam. Any Technician or General candidates wanting to take a next level exam should bring a copy of their current license showing their FCC Registration Number (FRN).

Registration: There are a limited number of openings in this class so please send an email to k9wra.repeater@gmail.com stating that you would like to attend the Technician’s License-in-a-Day class. Additional information will be provided to help ensure your class runs smoothly.

Cost: $15 due at test time to cover test administration costs.

Lunch: A lunch of barbecue sandwiches, chips, drink and cookies will be provided at no cost although donations are appreciated.

Technician Class Study Material: There’s plenty of study material available to help prepare you for the exam. Spending the time to take advantage of this material is the key to passing the Technician exam.
